Petersburg City Councilman Charlie Cuthbert is set to hold a 4th Ward meeting on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The meeting will take place from 5:30 p.m. to no later than 7:30 p.m. at the Event Center Auditorium of the Petersburg Public Library located at 201 West Washington Street.

The primary focus of this meeting will be addressing speeding in Petersburg and exploring additional measures to discourage it. During the session, the City Administration will update attendees on actions taken since the last meeting in May concerning Traffic Calming Request Forms submitted by Councilman Cuthbert. These forms addressed speeding issues specifically in the 1700 and 1800 blocks of South Crater Road, as well as other areas including Henry Street, Low Street, Myrick Avenue, and West Bank Street.

Additionally, discussions will cover speeding concerns on Liberty Street, South Sycamore Street, North Sycamore Street, and the first two blocks of East Fillmore Street. Any other streets mentioned by citizens during the meeting will also be considered for discussion.

Representatives from both the City Manager’s Office and the Petersburg Police Department have been invited to attend. They are expected to address various issues related to speeding and respond to questions from those present.

The meeting is open to all residents and property owners in Petersburg irrespective of their Ward affiliation.
