Two informational sessions about the RBC Dealer Institute are scheduled for June 18 and 25 from 5 to 7 pm. These sessions will take place at the Ernst Auditorium at Richard Bland College, located at 11301 Johnson Road.

The RBC Dealer Institute is co-sponsored by Live! Casino Virginia, Richard Bland College, and the City of Petersburg. The institute is set to begin on August 4, 2025, at the new Richard Bland College Workforce & Career Readiness Center in Petersburg.

Live! Casino Virginia’s temporary gaming facility aims to create around 500 permanent jobs, with over 100 positions as table games dealers. The Dealer Institute provides training for individuals interested in a career in the gaming industry and offers an opportunity to interview for dealer positions at Live! Casino Virginia.

No prior experience in casinos or gaming is required to apply for the training institute or attend the information sessions. Interested individuals must register in advance for these sessions before signing up for the training program. More details can be found at https://www.rbc.edu/rbc-dealer-institute/. While attending the information sessions and Dealer School is free, there is a $139 fee per student for a Blackjack kit needed for training.

The Dealer Institute will operate from August 4, Monday through Thursday, with classes scheduled from 8 am to noon, 2 pm to 6 pm, and 7 pm to 11 pm. Classes will be conducted by experienced instructors who aim to prepare students for careers in the casino industry. Completing the course does not guarantee employment but allows enrollees to apply for positions at Live! Casino Virginia.

Live! Casino Virginia plans to open its temporary gaming facility in Petersburg by late 2025. For more information about Live! Casino Virginia, visit https://valive.casino/.
