Department of Environmental Quality issued the following announcement on Nov. 8
Last week, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported that information had been received from Newport News Waterworks (NNWW) regarding results from a Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances – also known as “PFAS” – sampling of source water in the Chickahominy River watershed.
A webinar to discuss the findings from the NNWW sampling, Virginia’s response to date, health impacts, future sampling plans, as well as a general overview of PFAS, is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 7 to 8 p.m. Webinar registration info is available here.
