Hampden-Sydney College Athletic issued the following announcement on Dec. 30
Hampden-Sydney College welcomes William Peace (NC) University in non-conference basketball action on Friday, December 31, at 1 p.m. in S. Douglas Fleet Gymnasium at Kirby Field House. The host Tigers are 7-2 overall, and enjoying their finest start to a season since 2014-15 (8-1), while the visiting Pacers are 4-5 overall. The game will be broadcast and can be heard locally on WVHL Radio, Kickin' Country 92.9 FM, and will also be available worldwide on the Internet at wvhl.net or via the TuneIn Radio App, while available to watch as well via the Tiger Sports Network live video stream at hscathletics.com, pregame airing at 12:30 p.m.
Second Game Against William Peace (NC) Added To Schedule
H-SC and WPU have scheduled a second game this weekend, as well, and will play again on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 2 p.m. in the Hermann Athletic Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Head Coach Caleb Kimbrough
H-SC is led by the third-year head coach who took over the program on April 4, 2019. The former head coach at Huntingdon College (AL) from 2016-19, Kimbrough is the 19th head coach in the 112-year history of the storied Hampden-Sydney program. He is no stranger to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), having played four years at Guilford College (NC) and coached six years with the Quakers, and one year at Washington and Lee University. Caleb is 23-19 overall at the College, including 11-11 in ODAC games.
Scouting Hampden-Sydney
The Tigers are playing in their third season under the direction of Coach Kimbrough, and last played on Dec. 18-19 when splitting two games in the H-SC Classic ... defeating Mary Washington 84-71 before falling to No. 23 Maryville (TN) 85-84. H-SC has three players averaging in double figures among nine scoring at least 5.1 points per game. Junior guard Ryan Clements (Conyers, GA) leads the balanced-scoring team with his 14.4 points, adding 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists, followed by sophomore guard Adam Brazil (Mooresville, NC) (12.1 points, 22 3FGs) and fifth-year forward and team captain Jake Hahn (Ruckersville) (11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds). H-SC is shooting 48% (274-577) from the field, including 38% (82-215) on three-point field goals, and 72% (131-183) at the free throw line. The high-scoring Tigers are averaging 84.6 points, and allowing 69.8 points, for a +14.8 scoring margin.
Scouting William Peace
The Pacers are coached by 10th-year head coach Claude Shields, and last played on Dec. 19 against ODAC member Randolph College ... a 90-81 overtime win at home. WPU has been led by junior guard Isaiah Everette-Lewis (12.3 points) and junior guard/forward Beau Bryant (11.7 points, 9.0 rebounds). WPU shoots 39% from the field, including 29% on three-pointers, and 75% at the line; scoring 75.1 points, yielding 83.2 points.
Series History
H-SC and WPU are playing for just the seventh time since first meeting on January 4, 2015, and the series is tied at 3-3. The Tigers won three of the first four games between the two schools, but the Pacers have won two-straight contests in the series, including a most recent 96-71 road win at H-SC on November 18, 2018.
H-SC Mask Policy
The College's current mask policy is that all individuals – both vaccinated and unvaccinated – are required to wear masks inside campus buildings when others are nearby (within 6 feet). Unvaccinated individuals are also required to maintain social distancing at all times. Campus visitors must abide by these precautions as well.
