Hampden-Sydney Earns Dual Meet Win At William Peace (NC) 109-78

Hampden-Sydney College Athletic Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 23

Freshman Quinn Hardimon (Alexandria) won the 200 Yard Free and the 100 Yard Back, and swam on the winning 200 Yard Medley Relay to lead Hampden-Sydney College to a 109-78 dual meet victory on the road at William Peace University on Sunday in Cary, North Carolina. Senior Jason Covaney (Williamsburg) won the 100 Yard Free, while junior Braxton Psuik (Glen Allen) won the 50 Yard Free for the visiting Tigers, who improved to 5-1 overall.

Hardimon won the 200 Free in 1:53.27, and took the 100 Back in 58.81. He teamed with freshman Cole Renfrow (Bowling Green, KY), Covaney and freshman Brandon Hyde (Thousand Oaks, CA) to win the 200 Medley Relay in 1:46.10.

Covaney won the 100 Free in 54.61, and finished second in the 50 Free in 24.11.

Psuik won the 50 Free in 23.13.

Senior Woody Parsons (Virginia Beach) teamed with freshman Matt Brooks (Springfield), junior Andrew Rehak (Radford) and Psuik to win the 200 Yard Free Relay in 1:35.66. Parsons also finished second in the 200 Yard IM in 2:14.74, and in the 100 Yard Fly in 56.76.

Rehak finished second in the 500 Yard Free in 5:37.99, while Renfrow was second in the 100 Yard Breast in 1:07.73.

H-SC will swim again at Bridgewater College in Old Dominion Athletic Conference dual meet action on Saturday, January 29, at 1 p.m. in Bridgewater.
