Hampden-Sydney College freshman Brian Polinchock (Moseley) has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Golfer of the Week for the period March 30-April 5.
Polinchock led H-SC with his 36-hole score of even par 74-70--144 at the Tiger Spring Tournament on April 2-3 at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville. He finished second individually among the 68 collegiate golfers, helping the Tigers' B Team to a two-day score of 304-308--612 to finish first among 11 teams. Polinchock's round of two-under 70 was the second-lowest round of the day and of the tournament, and included one eagle—a 40-foot putt on 18, four birdies and nine pars. He tied for first among the field in eagles (1) and par 5 scoring (4.38, -5), tied for third in par 4 scoring (4.05, +1), was fourth in birdies (7) and tied for 24th in par 3 scoring (3.50, +4).
H-SC, ranked No. 18 in the Golfstat national rankings, will compete again at the 49th Intercollegiate At Camp Lejeune, a 54-hole tournament this weekend, April 8-10, that will be played at the Paradise Point Golf Course in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Brian will be making his A Team debut for the Tigers at Camp Lejeune.
