The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, September13, 2022, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in the Circuit Courtroom of Cumberland County in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct public hearings pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearings may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
Code Amendment (CA) 22-08: Solar Revenue Share Program – This amendment to chapter 74 of the Cumberland County Code will revise the Revenue Share Program for Solar Energy Projects and allow the locality to assess a revenue share of up to $1,400 per MW AC for projects 5 MW or less pursuant to VA Code Sec. 58.1-2606.1.
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 22-04: Idgie’s Whistlestop, LLC – This application is for a conditional use permit to allow continued use of a convenience store with an apartment in the same building after a change in management. The property is not located within a growth area in the Comprehensive Plan and is located in election district 1.
Rezoning (REZ) 22-02: WFLO Building – A request to rezone from B-1 to R-1. The property is located at 1582 Cumberland Road, and is designated as tax map parcel 110AH-A-7; a 7.550-acre lot. The property is located in the high intensity zone if the Farmville growth area in the Comprehensive Plan and is within election district 5.
Copies of the complete text of the proposed rezoning and Zoning Ordinance amendments are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend these hearings at which persons affected may appear and present their views orally or in writing.
