The Hampden-Sydney College Tigers scored right before half, but a second half equalizer from the North Carolina Wesleyan University Battling Bishops, saw the contest finish, 1-1, Tuesday afternoon at Scalf Field.
H-SC opened the scoring in the 42nd minute with a clinical counterattack as the ball found the feet of senior Jacob Siler (Charlotte, NC) who hit a ball through the defense for junior Emory Davis (Palmyra) to run onto and he beat the keeper for the goal.
The Battling Bishops answered in the second half as sophomore Osei Darko (Stockholm, Sweden) won his tackle right outside the Tiger's box and after two dribbles into the box finished in the far corner. His goal leveled the game, and the stalemate could not be broken, as one goal apiece was all either side could muster.
The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, September 16, when they travel to Washington and Lee University to take on the Emory University Eagles. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Alston Parker Watt Field
