Hampden-Sydney B Golf Team Wins The H-SC Fall Invitational At The Manor

 Hampden-Sydney College's B and C Golf Teams hosted the H-SC Fall Invitational at The Manor this weekend, October 22-23, at The Manor Golf Club in Farmville. The Tigers' B Team posted a second-round score of 301 on Sunday for a 36-hole score of 606 (305-301) to finish first among five teams, while the C Team posted a day two score of 314 for a score of 641 (327-314) to finish third.

Freshman Pierce Lambert (Hartfield) led the B Team with his rounds of 76-74--150 on the par 72, 6,643-yard layout that tied for fourth among the 31 collegiate golfers. He was followed closely by sophomore John Hutcheson (Edina, MN) (76-75--151, T-6th) and freshman Ryan Porterfield (Cumming, GA) (76-75--151, T-6th), along with sophomores Brody Smith (Yorktown) (77-77--154, 12th) and Rece Lott (Fort Worth, TX) (78-78--156, 13th). Lambert totaled five birdies and 21 pars over the two rounds, while Hutcheson had five birdies and 22 pars, Porterfield had four birdies and 22 pars, Smith had six birdies and 16 pars, and Lott had two birdies and 23 pars.

Freshman Cole Pollard (Manakin Sabot) (78-80--158, T-15th) led the C Team, and was followed by junior Reese Meyer (Virginia Beach) (83-77--160, T-18th), freshman Cole Wright (Wake Forest, NC) (86-76--162, T-21st), sophomore Knox Sirmans (Rome, GA) (82-81--163, T-23rd), and freshman Jack Hoyle (Midlothian) (84-81--165, 25th). Pollard totaled two birdies and 21 pars over the two rounds, while Meyer had four birdies and 16 pars, Wright had four birdies and 15 pars, Sirmans had two birdies and 20 pars, and Hoyle had two birdies and 17 pars.

Senior Ryan Corbett (Richmond) (81-87--168, T-26th), along with freshmen Jack Craig (Raleigh, NC) (83-85--168, T-26th) and Jack Davis (Radford) (83-86--169, 29th) played as individuals this weekend. Corbett had two birdies and 18 pars over the two rounds, while Craig had six birdies and 11 pars, and Davis had 17 pars.

Justin Larue of nearby NCAA Division I Longwood University took individual medalist honors at eight-under par 67-69--136.

The H-SC B and C teams have completed their fall competition.
