As we work in partnership with Kinex Telecom to bring broadband services to unserved and underserved areas of Prince Edward County, we should be able to provide updates on miles of fiber installed and homes and businesses eligible to sign up for services.
This project would not be possible without funding provided by:
$15 million Virginia Telecommunication Initiative (VATI) grant
Up to $2,153,500 of PEC’s Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (CLFRF) from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
$4 million loan brokered through the PEC IDA (to be repaid through federal RDOF grants received by Kinex)
