Charlotte County Work Ready Communities Award
Charlotte County was recognized at the National Workforce Summit held in New Orleans in October for their hard work with the Work Ready Communities initiative and ACT National Career Readiness Certifications. Charlotte County became a certified Work Ready Community in December 2019. They maintained their status in 2021 and completed a second maintaining goal in June of 2022. There were eight counties that started this Work Ready Communities Initiative together and Charlotte County is currently leading the way. The South Central Workforce Development Board and Charlotte County Public Schools completed testing to over 400 citizens and students in the county along with working closely with local employers.
