99 students were enrolled for 1st-grade in Brunswick County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 99 1st-grade students enrolled in Brunswick County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 18.2% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 1st-grade students in the county was Totaro Elementary School.

Within Brunswick County schools, the largest number of students were found in 2nd-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Brunswick County ranked 109th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 108th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
