125 students were enrolled for 9th-grade in Lunenburg County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 125 9th-grade students enrolled in Lunenburg County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 11.3% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Central High School was the only school that welcomed 9th-grade students in the county.

Within Lunenburg County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Lunenburg County ranked 105th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 105th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
