How many students were enrolled in Brunswick County schools for 2023-24 school year?

There were 1,395 students enrolled in Brunswick County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.7% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Brunswick County comprised 52.3% boys, with girls representing the remaining 47.7%.

Data also showed that Black or African American students made up 77.4% of the student body, the largest percentage in Brunswick County schools, followed by white students with 13.7%, 5.1% Hispanic students and 0.2% Asian students.

Brunswick High School had the highest enrollment among Brunswick County's five schools in the 2023-24 school year, welcoming 422 students.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
