Connor Brooks And Declan Shaw Named To CSC Academic All-District Team

Connor Brooks And Declan Shaw Named To CSC Academic All-District TeamSenior defender Connor Brooks (Springfield) and junior midfielder Declan Shaw (Durham, NC) have been named to the 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Soccer Academic All-District Team.

Brooks, a four-year member of the soccer program, excelled in the classroom as well as on the field posting a 3.67 GPA. He is a double major in German and Business and Economics while being named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) All-Academic team twice. Brooks was a key starter on the back line for the Tigers when healthy, making 12 starts in 14 appearances.

Brooks was a three-year starter during his career, finishing with 43 appearances and 36 starts. He finished his career finding the back of the net four times and assisting on one goal. He earned an All-ODAC Third Team honor in the spring 2021 along with a VaSID All-State Second Team honor the same season.

 Shaw, a third-year member of the soccer program, posted a 3.50 GPA as a mathematical economics major. He has been named to the ODAC All-Academic Team in his first two seasons as a Tiger. Shaw was a key piece of the Tiger's midfield, making 16 starts in 17 appearances, while scoring four goals and tallying three assists. His season earned him All-ODAC Second Team honors for the 2022 season.

Shaw has been a starter for his three-years in the Garnet and Grey, making 31 starts in 35 appearances. He has scored eight career goals and added seven assists. During the spring 2021 season, Shaw was named ODAC Rookie of the Year as well as First Team All-ODAC. In addition he was also named VaSID Rookie of the Year and All-State First Team by VaSID.
