Which Prince Edward County school saw the biggest in 2023-24 school year?

Prince Edward Elementary School had the highest enrollment among Prince Edward County schools, welcoming 778 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 54.9% of them were male, and 45.1% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 53.5% of Prince Edward Elementary School's total enrollment.

Among the three schools in Prince Edward County, Prince Edward County High School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 525 students, while Prince Edward Middle School welcomed 513 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Prince Edward Elementary School is part of Prince Edward County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Prince Edward County, with its main office in Farmville.

In the previous school year, Prince Edward Elementary School also had the highest number of students among Prince Edward County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
