Nottoway County schools welcomed 127 7th-grade students in 2023-24 school year

There were 127 7th-grade students enrolled in Nottoway County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 6.7% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Nottoway Middle School was the only school that welcomed 7th-grade students in the county.

Within Nottoway County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Nottoway County ranked 97th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 99th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
