Which Brunswick County school saw the biggest in 2023-24 school year?

Brunswick High School had the highest enrollment among Brunswick County schools, welcoming 422 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 51.9% of them were male, and 48.1% were female.

Data also showed that most of the students were Black, representing 78% of Brunswick High School's total enrollment.

Among the five schools in Brunswick County, Totaro Elementary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 310 students, while James S. Russell Middle School welcomed 295 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Brunswick High School is part of Brunswick County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Brunswick County, with its main office in Lawrenceville.

In the previous school year, Brunswick High School also had the highest number of students among Brunswick County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
