Mecklenburg County Public Schools District in Mecklenburg County experienced decline in student enrollment for 2023-24 school year

The only school district in Mecklenburg County suffered declining enrollment in the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

There were 3,938 students in Mecklenburg County Public Schools District, 0.9% less than the year before.

Enrollment in Mecklenburg County was steady with the state's trend of decreasing enrollment.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 51.5% of them were male, and 48.5% were female.

The most represented ethnicity among Mecklenburg County Public Schools District students was white, accounting for 44.1% of the student population.

Mecklenburg County Public Schools District has a main office in Boydton and is the only school district within Mecklenburg County.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
